Just in........a well kept, excellent example of the 'Limited Edition' submodel. Either as is or further improved, a wonderful starting point. And only 65,000 original miles.....1,500 miles a year.
Excellent body and very good original black paint. Very clean tan interior. No observable rust underneath, clearly has led a happy life. We did a compression test: 145-150 psi compression in every cylinder (excellent rings and top end), 70-75 psi oil pressure (excellent bottom end), no smoke, transmission and clutch work well.
Has its original 'Limited Edition' alloy wheels, nice leather aftermarket steering wheel, modern digital stereo, fairly new 185/60 radials, exhaust looks fairly new, everything works and it drives wonderfully.
In the trunk, its original tonneau, good convertible top, nice and tidy engine bay with excellent wiring, AND we can offer this car with the best original factory hardtop we have even seen. And in matching color.
Now, as is....a nice classic British sports car that starts instantly, runs flawlessly, and really doesn't 'need' anything. However, if one's budget allows, there are a lot of improvements we can offer: first, and most obvious, is we can perform a comprehensive chrome bumper conversion, all new bumpers and Mk I grille, eliminate the side lights, and provide the beautiful aesthetics of the earliest MGB. Alternatively, we can paint the rubber bumpers in gloss black to match the paint, inexpensive and (in my eye) a huge improvement.
Cold weather driving, we can install a powerful supplemental heater which provides heat similar to contemporary cars (I know, have a unit in each of my own MGBs and the results are awesome). And, of coruse, can provide the hardtop seen in the photos.
For hot weather, we offer a very efficient modern a/c unit that is designed for this car and provides a 'factory look.' We canlower the car to the pre 1975 ride height, offer a wire wheel conversion, and for more performance, a new 32/36 DGV Weber carb with racing headers and electric choke.
Regardless of which we one goes, the basic car is an excellent starting point. And a beautiful 42 year old classic sports car.
